Can I find out which paint colors you used?

You Bet! And thanks for asking. In fact, this is probably our most frequently asked FAQ. We are flattered, and honored to share. All of our paints are from Benjamin Moore, and are as follows:

Who Are These Guys?

Do you want the long answer or the short one? OK, we’ll do short, but click on the link for the long answer. We, the Pratzel Family, have owned the Collins House B&B and Catering for 20 years, and have always, always, wanted to have a ‘retail’ space for our bakery and catered foods. How often have people called the inn asking if they could just come for breakfast? So here we are, finally living a dream of serving our friends and neighbors as a friendly, neighborhood place.

What Time Will You Open Each Morning?

Coffee's on at 6:00 a.m. Along with fresh, warm breakfast pastries, daily homemade quiches, fresh fruit and yogurt, homemade granola, and the morning paper. On the weekends, we'll start a little later, and we'll add some wonderful brunch entrees to our menu.

Where did the name Manna come from?

It seems like a long time back that we sat around a table jotting name ideas down. Some of the possibilities included Barb's Bakery, Grandpa Al's (in honor of a beloved grandfather with a famous kosher bakery in St. Louis), and a number of other less creative choices. Since part of the idea of the bakery was to feature breads from other cultures, as well as a core of daily breads, the word Manna just naturally popped out. And stuck. And no matter how hard we tried to think of something better, it just kept coming back.

Manna is short, easy to say, and completely evocative of the idea of bread as daily sustenance. Of course, we do so much more at the cafe. But everything tends to center around wonderful, homey, satisfying breads.
